How many of us have children, friends or family who have ceased to practice their faith
and have left to go to other denominations?

The reason for this is they don’t know enough about their own Catholic faith and were easily drawn away because of the personal attention and constant follow-up that is provided by people of other faiths.

“Catholics in Action”
What does this really mean?

 The Need

All Catholic’s need on-going spiritual nourishment.  At this time, in many of our parishes there is no organized or systematic approach to fulfill this much needed spiritual guidance.

There is a high attrition rate among adults who have gone through the RCIA Program and upon becoming new Catholics, have been set adrift at a most crucial time after their “mountain-top” experience.

We have many “cradle” Catholics that have lost touch with Catholic beliefs and question some of the most important tenets of our Faith.

There are many God-fearing Catholic parents that have had and do have heart breaking experiences because of children drifting away from their Mother Church.

 The Solution

We can provide our brothers and sisters in Christ with a program that will give them the knowledge they need for their own personal salvation.

We can mentor Catholics that wish to participate in the “Catholics in Action” program.  Continuity of the program is of great importance, and the stability and reliability of the Knights of Columbus will ensure its perpetuation.

We need to encourage Evangelization!  Our new Catholics are “on fire” and want to learn and share their faith.  We can re-ignite the flame in those who have become complacent or even confused about their faith.  Evangelization does not mean confrontation.  What it means is sharing your knowledge as to what the Catholic Church really teaches, as opposed to what anti-Catholics or non-Catholics think we believe.  To quote Bishop Sheen:

“I never met a person that hated Catholicism, but I have met many who hated what they thought  Catholicism taught.”
